Land Survey

Observation data to 3D structured AutoCAD drawing in seconds

The main benefit of the KeyTERRA-FIRMA Land Survey module is the direct input from a range of Survey Dataloggers, Total Stations and GPS equipment by reading the raw observation or co-ordinate files. By working inside AutoCAD the program provides efficient representation of the site with user specified layers using 3D Polylines and blocks. Note
that additional object enabler software not required – the resulting survey drawings are viewable and usable “as is” in any AutoCAD platform including AutoCAD LT.

Each user with the survey data input function has a program written specifically for them based on their example data. This is a very non-standard area and we aim to enable users to work in the way that they want to. A very high degree of automation is achieved with “MOSS” type feature codes (4 character alpha-numeric).

KeyTERRA-FIRMA direct survey input is much better than any method using DXF files as we are working within AutoCAD the whole of the time. From the initial 3D survey drawing the next stage may be any of the following outputs.

Outputs

Creating the Ground Model to represent the site as a surface. Rapidly drawing River and Road cross sections. Building facades/bridge elevations projected onto vertical face. Writing a “MOSS” GENIO file.

Survey Drawings

A range of enhancement and annotation routines are included to enable the production of survey drawings with high presentation standards.

Cross Sections

Existing road cross sections created following direct survey input and rapidly drawn to user specified style and vertical magnification without the need to create a ground model.
